Emma Nasta Pilates

As a dancer, Pilates was an important part of my practise, helping me stay strong and injury free. After then spending years in an office, sitting at a desk and the birth of my two sons, I was delighted to be re-introduced to Pilates by a local Body Control Pilates ® teacher.

My love of Pilates was re-ignited and I was keen to share this passion with others. After a few years, I decided to train to teach and I am now a qualified Level 3 Body Control Pilates ® instructor and hold Level 3 REPS – Register of Exercise Professionals.

I really enjoy helping people, with different experiences and of all ages, to see how Pilates can transform the way they move and feel. Being able to help other people understand and have more awareness of their own bodies is one of the wonderful things about teaching Pilates.

‘If, at the age of 30, you are stiff and out of shape, you are old. If, at 60, you are supple and strong then you are young’

Pilates Classes

Group Matwork Classes I run group classes from my home studio with a maximum of 6 clients per session. This enables me to ensure that every client receives support and more 1:1 attention. My style of teaching is particularly hands on and correctional helping my clients get the most out of their practise. My classes are set at various levels so I can cater for a range of needs and abilities. To enhance the session, we also use small equipment including resistance bands, small balls, toning circles, foam rollers and light weights. These will help to challenge you in as many ways as possible.

Private sessions I also offer 1:1 sessions for clients that prefer a more personal session that is specifically designed to meet their needs. If you would like to share the session with a friend or family member I offer 2:1 sessions.

Client Comments

‘As a Pilate’s novice, male and the wrong side of 50, I had been anticipating my first Pilates lessons with a degree of trepidation. What if the other class members were bendy leotard clad experts? I had no need to worry. From the outset Emma made me feel comfortable and welcome, with a well-judged programme to accommodate all abilities. Emma’s structured lessons are focused and sometimes challenging, but mixed with sufficient laughter and fun to make sure I look forward to the next week!’ Trevor

‘A warm and friendly instructor teaching small classes in a dreamy setting – a real find!’ Monika, Lingfield

FAQ

What is Pilates?

Pilates is an exercise method which, not only conditions your body but stretches and lengthens your muscles.
It strengthens the core postural muscles, building control and strength from the inside out. It tones the body, protects your spine and corrects your posture. Focussing on correct alignment and posture facilitates a wider range of movement in joints, ensures the correct muscles are being utilised for movement and addresses faulty movement patterns.
Pilates promotes healthy joints and helps to avoid muscle and ligament damage, sometimes associated with other fitness regimes.
Pilates also encourages you to focus on your body increasing your awareness of how it feels and moves. It relieves stress and tension providing you with a sense of calm and wellbeing.
Pilates is suitable for all ages and all levels of fitness.

What should I wear?

Wear comfortable clothes that allow you to move freely. If you are happy to wear something fitted like leggings and a T-shirt this makes it easier to see your alignment and movement. No shoes or trainers are needed, just bare feet or socks.

What do I need to bring to the class?

Mats and small equipment are provided for you. Just bring yourself and a bottle of water.
